Folding Bikes - a quick question on my trek.

Hi all,
I have started this thread to cry out to all trek f400 owners to tell me..... is there any way to roll this thing@!@!@!
I have tried many different ways of rolling it, handles up, seat up etc but i cant seem to roll it, and carrying it is a pain because it is not exactly light :roflmao2:. If there is no way to roll it then is there any handle things that i could buy to clamp onto my bike so i can drag it along sort of like .....

I assume it's the same as all bikes with that fold including my Dahon. I have the same issue as you - I can roll it, but it's not comfortable and requires some concentration to keep it balanced. I went to Tesco's last night, after midnight when the place is empty, and had a go at shopping whilst wheeling the bike round (with the saddle). It didn't take long before my arm / wrist was knackered and I made do with just a packet of muesli and some biscuits. Not really practical. Though one of the security guards complemented my bike; I explained that I'd heard tesco had a no bike policy and he told me not to worry about it.
Since buying the bike I've been obsessed with shedding as many grams as possible to make it easier to carry, and that still looks like the only way forward. However, that often means more expensive components (sugino chainset) which makes the bike more attractive to thieves, etc..
I'm thinking some sort of shoulder strap might make a big difference to ease of carrying.

good idea! i might get a bag when i pay off my debts of a xbox 360 games console, my bike also wobbles all over the place when i try dragging it along and its a pain so this would be a good solution, thanks! :D
Handlebars up... You, facing the handlebars and two wheels from the front. Pull the handlebars back toward you so that the seat post tube comes off the ground. Push the bike forward. This should work if your brakes don't engage. If the brakes do engage, it will require balancing a bit more.
On my bike, the brakes don't engage enough to cause a problem so I can roll it like this on both wheels.

how could i make it so the brakes dont lock?
Make sure the cables are getting pinched when you fold the bike. If that doesn't work, you could adjust the brakes to see if there is a better position that still allows you to stop, but doesn't engage as easily.

hmm ok ill give it a go tomorrow thanks :D

I had this same problem with my Giant Halfway. I had to tilt it to one side and roll it with just the front wheel.
I just realized that my last post I said "are getting pinched"... it should have been "aren't getting pinched"...
carry on.
