Just got a new Trek 5200 :) , but till my first test ride I was anti-Trek, mostly because of the popularity. As a result, the Trek thing combined with that fact and that I have had wonderful luck with Mavic Ksyrium Elite, I had the LBS swap them for the Mavic. They had Bontrager Race Lite on them. What do you guys think, wrong move? I could still have the origonals put back on.

Fairly comperable wheels IMO. The Bontys are a touch lighter, but only 25g or so. They both sell for about the same cost so I think you got a fair swap. Keep the Mavics if you like them, they are nice wheels.

One thing I left out in my post on your other thread - the Mavic Elites are great wheels. But I see them as comparable to the Race Lites, not significantly better. Had I had the option, I might have gone with the Mavics.

Besides, they make you stand out a bit from the rest of the OCLV owners. My 5500 is red for that very reason.

Good move IMO.
The guys I know who run Bonty rims (X Lites in particular) have had issues with tight tires which makes for interesting side of the road tube changes. Not so with Mavic Ksyriums. Ksyriums are tough if not the lightest thing going. I run the older K SSCs on two bikes and have had very few problems.

Wheelsets look the same for the most part when you ride.I guess if you sit around more then ride,looks make a difference.

I had race lites and hated the wheels. I am about 190 and felt the wheels flexing. I have the Mavic Ksyrium SL's but think that the elites are much better than the race lites. Great choice.

I have race wheels on my ride and I like them a lot. The tires are tight as hell though so I have to carry a tire lever now. I thought it was just me? Glad to here that is a known issue w/ Bontrager...

And I thought I was the only one. When ever I tried to change a tire on my Race Lites it seemed I had to wrestle with them.

Yes, no extra charge. And online I noticed the Ksyriums are about 50 bucks more.

And forgot to mention,,, my LBS mentioned that he really didnt want to swap them mostly for the reason that the Ksyriums will sell easy but its hard to get rid of the RaceLites because they are specific to the Trek bikes, so guess I found a good shop.
