Tandem Cycling - tandem fork info.

Hello,
I have a question, I have a 1990 Burley Bossa Nova tandem that I was preparing for the upcoming season and noticed that one of the canti-lever brake bosses is bent in, (possibly from tipping over?) Any way the question. Does anyone know of a good place that may repair the fork? I went to my bike shop and also contacted Burley, of course since it is older thay don't make a 1" threaded steerer in 27" anymore. They have threadless 1 1/8", has anyone tried that? Any sugggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your Burley's 1" head tube won't allow you to use a fork with anything larger than a 1" steerer tube.

The link provided by Phil looks interesting but I have no personal knowledge of who it might be. You might want to call and talk with Michel (Mee-shell) at Free Flite bicycles to either get his opinion on WildThings or perhaps another recommendation.

I have referred several folks to Koolbikes (formerly Pfieffer Frames) in Clemson, SC, as they (that would be Mary) always do a nice job. Kookbikes is also a paint shop so they do turn-key work... and really nice folks.

The first thing that I would do would be to take the brake off and try to figure out what, exactly, is bent. Most canty mounts thread into the fork. If you're lucky, you might be able to just replace a thread-in mount. Even if it's all one piece, since it's a steel fork, I'd be inclined to try bending it back. Since the alternative is replacing the fork, what have you got to lose?

Thanks for the info. I actually had the woman at wildframe do some work on my racing bike in 1990, it had totally slipped my mind. I called her today and am taking the fork to her on Monday. I checked for replies yesterday and 19 people had read no responses I was starting to loose hope.
