Hello,
I'm a newbie and I hope this is the right place for this question, sorry if it's not. I have a fork from a Daccordi SLX frame that was damaged in a crash and I would like to replace the fork blades. The crown and steerer appear to be undamaged. My question is regarding the chrome plating. Do I have to strip the chrome before doing any brazing? If so should the stripping be done mechanically or chemically? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you need to worry about removing the chrome. The blades plug into the crown so there is no chrome inside the socket. Remove the blades and sand off the chrome adjacent to the fork crown socket and plug in new blades.
