I haven't bought many cassettes so I'm not that familiar with the various models. What's the best bang for the buck in terms of weight? Talkin' 9 speed.

Ultegra or 105.

A used Dura-Ace CS-7700. You can find 'em in near-new condition on E-Bay for $40 - $50...not to mention titanium lower cogs and a savings of 40/60 grams over Ultegra/105.

I vote Ultegra. A few experienced mechanics have said that they would not trust used drivetrain parts (chains & cassettes)and I agree.

I like the Ultegra Cassette but SRAM PG-970 is competitive and generally less $$.
For "Stupid Light" though, the IRD Alloy Cassettes - sometimes coated with Teflon and called "Black Lightning" are the economy model. Caveat: You don't train on these, they are race-day only.
