Bicycle Mechanics - Is there a simple solution?

So I have a new bike with TruVativ Touro Cross cranks. I have stripped the drive side crank due to a pedal issue. I couldn't get out of the pedals because they failed to release even on the easiest setting and after applying lots of pressure to get my leg back the pedal came out of the crank.

It appears that the crank is now stripped and won't even hold a pedal. Is there an easy way to fix this? Or do I have to replace the crank arm?

That brings me to the next question, where do I find this arm? Or do I need to purchase a whole new crank set?

Any help would be appreciated, this is my commuter.

Depends on how bad you striped the crank arm. You can go to your LBS and they can try to re tap the arm. Another solution would be to get a helicoil installed. Second option will probable be as much as new cranks.

It depends on how badly stripped it is. If there is sufficient amount of non-damaged threads you may be able to get around it by re-tapping. If not, new crankarm. The cranks you have aren't really worth the labour to helicoil unless it's free.

The simple solution is new arm.

ok...so where does one find a new arm for these..I've tried googling them and can't find them. I even went to the SRAM site, this crank isn't listed. Any suggestions?

First, it sounds like your crank arm was butchered prior to not being able to get the pedal to release. I'm pretty sure your knee/ankle would give out long before you'd pull a properly tightened pedal out of a crank arm.

Second, the easiest fix is a thread insert to fix the stripped threads in the arm.

Or you could just replace the whole crankset, which might be cheaper than buying just a drive side arm. There are lots of cheap cranksets out there.

not yet, only because the guy I prefer to deal with is taking the weekend off. He's the owner, he's earned it.

I'm not sure why everyone is saying a helicoil costs so much or is crazy. My LBS helicoiled my Truvativ (coincidence? hehe) crank for $25, seems worth it in this case.
