So my Garmin Edge was hooked up to my laptop showing charge complete. I unhook it and the screen goes dead and I can't turn it on. Left it plugged in for a while and still nothing. Anything to be done or do I need to call Garmin and try to get them to send out a replacement?

What Garmin do you have?
For the Edge series try a soft reset (mode & lap/reset).
If that does not work for the 605/705 you can do a hard reset (power & mode).

I have the Garmin Edge 305. And as an update. This morning if I hit the on button, the welcome screen will flit on for a second, then the screen goes blank again.
Yesterday when I reconnected it to my laptop, and when I opened the training center and tried to pull info from the unit, the training center program wouldn't even recognize that it was connected.
I've just hooked it up to my laptop and the training center program popped open and it says it received data from the Garmin-- which it wouldn't do yesterday. So maybe it's starting to get over it's illness. Which is good because I actually need it to work--- I may still contact Garmin and ask them to send me a new one-- This thing was too expensive for me to have to worry about it being temperamental or only working sporadically.

reset. Mode + lap/reset + power button.

Yes, additionally it sounds like your battery died, and the the unit locked up, crazy as that sounds. Do the reset, and make sure the "Battery charging in progress" screen comes up, let it plugged in till the "Battery charging complete" screen comes up, then unplug it and power it on. If it doesn't power up, soft reset it and try again, it should work. My 305 used to do this about once every month or so, sometimes once a week, but the soft reset always brought it back.

I had a similiar problem, but one of the unit updates seemed to fix it. I haven't had to do the three button salute in a long time.
