Hi,

i just pulled this motor from a working treadmill that has developed a urine smell everytime it is turned on.

I was thinking of making a heavy pusher trailer with this motor and 3-4 RV batteries. What do you guys think?

Here's the stats:

Permanent Magnet DC motor
2.25 Hp
130 Volts DC
18 Amps
3600 rpm

I hooked it up to 12Volts and I was able to stop the flyweel with a gloved hand.

When I hooked it up to 24Volts, I was unable to stop the flywheel with a gloved hand. and when I grabbed it first then applied the power, it felt like 40-50lbs of pulling power.

Update: I just found out where the urine smell was coming from. There is a sleeve on one of the rollers that had moved to one side and it was rubbing against the frame....burnt plastic. I guess, i could put this treadmill back together, if you think I should abandon this idea.

I have all the components for a belt drive, including a plastic pulley that has an inner diameter that might match the diameter of a rear chainset without all the sprockets in place. The sprockets do come off, don't they?
