I seem to get a sound similar to the sound I identify as cross-chaining when I am in the largest front wheel and the smallest (and next smallest) cog in the rear. (Ultegra 9 speed Triple) So far, the LBS service folks haven't been very helpful in fixing the issue. They make an adjustment, it goes away and comes back after a few miles. Any ideas?

It may be your chain rubbing on the outer part of the front deraileur cage.

In that case, you may just need to adjust the stop screw.
