Retro Grouch

We just returned from the Midwest Tandem Rally.
We rode the short route on Saturday, 30 miles. It was a wonderful ride but seemed sooo hard. Sunday I felt too fatigued to ride. No pain, no other symptoms, just tired. I basically just slept the day away. Walking 2 blocks to the Subway shop was about all the exercise that I wanted. I feel fine today (Monday morning).
This has happened to me before a couple of years ago. I saw a doctor and had my heart and thyroid checked, but didn't discover anything abnormal.
Anybody have any experience or ideas about how I should address this issue?
