I'll still close gaps for you, but I need race geometry. This is something else. No offense, but anyone looking for a race frame might be a little disappointed with that head tube. You'd need bars with a pretty massive drop...
The head tube for the 54 is 4.5cm taller than what I have on my 54, which is a race-specific frame.

OK i get it...Exile's headtube is 4.5 taller than your bike's headtube..but you sure you're not comparing two totally different sizes?
coz Samual Sanchez seems to be doing quite well with his race-specific frame whose geometry is the same as Exile's...

Are you sure it's identical geo? This unnamed brand appears to have an even longer headtube than the Exile.

actually if you look at size M, Exile is 3mm longer than the Spanish brand

The headtube on the 57cm falls right between a S-works 56cm and 58cm ... Of course, no one is racing that brand ... :)

I like the geometry. If I hadn't just bought a Pedal Force, I'd be in for sure!!

How does payment take place? Credit card? Check? Any chance of offering Mavic wheels? Any word on getting Shimano components? Also, I heard somewhere that Dura-Ace will offer a compact crank for 2009; that would be good.

wire transfer or paypal. either works for me.
sorry I dont have any source of Mavic's. plus personally i dont like them..
Shimano's production can't even meet the needs of OEM market. i have no idea when I can get my hands on 7900's..

Ok so if I order a groupset with the frame how do I choose things like crank length, type (std or CT) and the ratios on the cassette.

This is the link that I'm using: http://www.neo-cycles.com/en/product/configure.php?id=4

Yea see I was selectng the group at the top and when you do that it greys everything out. Even if you select each item individually it doesn't give you the option for cassette ratio or crank length or CT vs std cranks.

It must be your browser then. Those options are still active for me.

Yeah, I see the options, as well. When you choose your groupset, the existing drop-downs for the groupset gray out, but three new drop-down menus appear, using AJAX, I assume.

Chopper it must be your brower...try Firefox or IE, they both work fine.

i haven't put up options for Campy groups yet...
try Sram groups and see if those work.

Ok so yes if you do a SRAM group the options are there...so it is a Campy issue...on the other hand I was seeing that Rival is like $400 less than Centaur CF. Hmmm But all my other bikes are Campy....

Campagnolo 10 speed shifters indexes SRAM 10 speed just fine.

just kidding..
seriously Sram groups are cheaper than Campy but you can't blame either one of them..
Rival 2009 is good value, worth a try.

Actually, some people have the Red crankset with GXP BB or ceramic Blackbox BB. I was asking which one since the ceramic would clearly make it a better deal.

Aren't those people just trying to get by on buyers who aren't paying attention? A red group should always come with a ceramic bb right?

Change... I was going to buy an Exile but my purchase got Obama-ed. I doubt Obama will try to ban bikes, so my buying priorities have shifted.

Right. the ceramic BB is one of the reasons that you choose Red over Force..

They don't have the Oval R900 stem, but they list the R700 off by over 18% as well. Both that entry and the ones for the Newton bars are a few years old though.

safe to say, ymmv ;)

A little late to the party, but FYI, my Oval Concepts R900 Stem weighed in at 90 grams for a 100mm

What can you tell us about these forks? Can't find much definitive info on the web. 200lb 6'1" rider here, definitely leaning towards the 400g exile fork.

oh for those who dont know much about the forks, HERE (http://fairwheelbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4416) is a very well written review.
all Edge 1.0 series products are super light. while 2.0 are heavier and also stronger and more durable.
Edge 2.0 fork is very good quality and i'm sure it can support your weight. but the Exile 400g fork is more pocket-friendly =)

ok now the weight system is updated with Edge forks data.
the lightest config is 5737g...it can be even lower with Edge wheelsets.
24rims + DT190 hubs wheelsets weight < 900g..

I have been lurking and am considering buying a Rival Groupset and an Easton wheelset. Finances may keep me out of the Rival, unfortunately. But, on a basic level, how is the wheelset shipped? I am relatively new to cycling, wanting to upgrade, and don't know how much work will be required of me (or a shop, depending on the answer) once I receive the wheelset. Can I put on a new cassette, some skewers, and be off, or am I missing out on a lot. Thanks for your patience with someone who wants to learn.
