I think you'd be perfect for it...

Search the forums, this gets asked alot. Long and short of it is to start getting in contact with messenger companies and tell them you're looking for work

if the whole messiger thing doesn't work out for crusty, there is always copy editing.

It seem like you have to read the entire post to get what he's asking for. Alas, I'm no messenger...

Back when I lived in Seattle, '81 to '01, I lived for a time in the "U" district. Peddling over to Goldie's on 45th was a treat, mainly because some of the Fleetfoot Mac messengers hung out and tossed 'em back, with some pretty gruesome stories about delivering in the business core, downtown, although they worked all over the city. The "U (University of Washington) District" was the desired area if you didn't want to deal with aggressive motorists, although the dispatches to addresses sometimes were not so back to back as downtown. You don't get paid by the hour, ever, as far I saw and heard. I wanted to do the same, for a short time. Make sure you have a strong lock that can be mounted and removed in seconds. You'll be working against the clock just like UPS does.

If that's what you want to do, be aware that you are about to embark on an adventure that's going to take you to the edge of the 'motor vehicle,' 'bicycle war.' If the town you live in and want to work in is not bike friendly, you may not be victorious.

I wish you the best. If you have reading disabilities, they are going to show up when you need to read addresses and directions, as well as personal indications by the customers. It's a tough job.

Yeah, I know. I was just hoping Campag4life would see my post and think I actually own a bike and can change a flat, as long as the flat side is on the bottom.
