Southern California - Bike Repair Classes Offered By Local Bike Shop

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I thought that you might be interested in a bike shop that offers free instruction in bicycle repair and problem prevention.
The classes include instruction in brake cleaning and adjusting, tire flat repair & tools and parts, different chain lubes for
different weather conditions, and other topics. The classes meet now on Saturday mornings at the shop's opening time
(9:00 am). There will be other classes on other days and times planned. Call to confirm at New Location:

I would be interested. Are these classes ongoing? Being able to adjust front and rear drs. would be helpful, do they teach this as well?

Also, I might be interested in other days since Saturday morning is my club riding day. Any chance that a Sunday may be offered at some point?

The mechanic mentioned that different days, organizing different topics covered, and are being planned as demand is being made known to him. He wants to run ongoing classes. If it was a one time thing, I would not post this thread. While the shop itself is closed on Sundays, He did mention that he is planning classes during nonbusiness hours too based on demand. But I do recommend that your speak with him by phone for specifics. And feel free to ask for what you want covered. He is really interested in doing these classes for the consumer (great for his business and our knowledge-it goes both ways).

Ok, I am interested. I have been looking for bike repair classes for a while. I prefer on going classes rather than an one time class. I am really interested in being able to build up a bike from a frame and then being able to maintain everything on the bike myself, at least that is the goal.

Thanks,

Bruce
