Yeah but it looks hot and is fast for sprinting. I doubt you'll get one for cheap and it would have to be pretty damn cheap to make sense for a allrounder anyway.

no usac allows cen helmets. It just means they can't be sold in the states.

Casco is a German company and controls the pricing. The lowest retail is 175 Euros (US$247.) plus foreign shipping. Some places are charging upwards of 250 Euros due to recent Olympic visibility for the product.

The Warp II is very light, and the euro spec is a 2.5 meter ballistic drop, whereas the CPSC test is 3m. Not much difference.

I really wanted one, then I thought about how stupid I'd feel if I had one and I ever didn't make it into a sprint tournament, then I saw this picture.

colorado springs. I think as long as you're focusing on the road there will be plenty of sprint tournaments you won't make it to the finals of. If you really want to be a track sprinter you need to specialize and have good genes.

Who really cares where you are in the standings? I'd rather be wearing a Warp than a road helmet in a track crash any day! Now, I'm not advocating that a Cat 5 show up on a disc wheel, but head protection is a real issue, and the Warp is a fully enclosed shell that better absorbs & distributes the impact forces.

Why not minimize the risk of brain injury, even if you run 13._ versus 12._ sec?

It doesn't meet us safety regulations and is much thinner. One would expect it therefore to distribute the impulse of a crash less and protect worse. Unless you ride on a track with projections that could peirce the vents of normal helmets there is no reason to think an enclosed shell would be safer. Additionally I've seen this rider ride elsewhere and he wears a normal helmet so safety is not the issue. Even worse given his team he clearly has access to a normal tt helmet which given his head position would have been faster. A warp only makes sense if you are actually going to qualify for the sprint which he wasn't even with a pretty slow cutoff in the high 11s.

huh? I at least would hate to be him cause I would feel really foolish for blowing $400 on a very specialized helmet that never even had a chance to do me any good because I was so slow. I would feel worse if I could have worn a faster helmet except for my vanity. What does having the same bike set up have to do with anything?

except as was already pointed out helmet probably not safe as normal helmet.

The Casco Attack looks like the better helmet. At least you could wear it all the time. It does not come large enough for me so its not an issue.
