Utility Cycling - Getting close to xtracycles limits

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Now that is the way to spend time with the family. What is the combined weight of everyone, the bike and the gear?

That rear tire is squished pretty low from all the weight.

I'll note that the part of the Xtracycle that extends past the rear axial is only rated for for something like 40-60lbs. I know this for doing something similar to what you have pictured over Baltimore streets (notorious for their bad condition) which contributed to the Xtracycle breaking.

Hmmm. . . now I'm thinking this is like the Iranians Photoshopping more missiles being launched (http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/07/iran-missile-ph.html).

haha, I'm not that good at photoshop. The second kid from the back had to do a back to school paper and one of the things they had to do was include a picture of something fun they did that summer. He wanted a picture of his whole family on our stretch limo. His mom called me yesterday and let me know that I was also listed as one of his "heroes" :D Probably because he got to ride the RatRod all day and every 3rd person we passed told him how cool his bike was :)
