I'm new to the forum and wanted to say hello.

Another BB to take up my time... cool :D

I started riding in 1986 after moving to New Mexico. At the time I was on overweight chain smoker. I started racing in 1998.A native Texan, I moved back to San Antonio in 1994.

I moved to Columbus in 2000. I was in need of a change. I was a burnt out Cat 3 racer. I spent one year getting fat and lazy, and in December 2001 I decided to take to ice taking skating lessons. A few months later, I started playing hockey. Tough stuff, especially for a Texas farm boy. My skating s*cked, and two teams tolerated my presence. Finally, the captain of my 2nd team made it clear want me back "Work on you skating" was the polite way he put it.

I've always had a fascination with goalies. Skating skills are required. But it's not like you are having to skate from one end of the rink to the other in pursuit of the puck, which I didnt have the speed for, despite having cyclist legs. So I stared buying the gear, and played in the net for the first time last May. And I love it.. I will never skate out. I found myself somewhat in "demand". I play B and C league, and play with anyone anytime I can. I've taken a few shots from some of the Blue Jackets

I'm planning on renewing my racing license this year. I don't know if I will be ready to race, but I will at least get out, train, and see what happens.

I was on overweight chain smoker

Anyone who used to smoke chains is OK in my book!

Welcome.

Hi creasecop . . . I lived in Columbus for almost thirty years before moving to Florida. I don't miss the weather, but I do miss the people and the place.

Its a nice town. :)
