BMX - Park/Ramp vs Street/Flatland Features + Heavier Rider features/sizing

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This may be a stupid question, but what are the specific features that make a freestyle "street" bike different than a "park/ramp" style bike? I'm mostly going to be doing street riding (parking lots, shopping center areas, etc around here) not much ramp/park stuff, but I'm just curious as to the differences.

Also - I'm about 225lbs, 5' 7", so I guess I'm looking at a Pro size frame (20.5" TT?). Do I need the thicker dropouts (8mm?) Any other features you can think of that I would need would be great.

I was looking into the DK Cleaveland, but wasn't sure if that would hold up to a guy my size thrashing it around? Another option was the Stolen Wrap, but I think that was more of a park/ramp bike? Any other bikes you would recommend for me in the under $400 range?

Thanks in advanced.

There's not really a difference, but some street bikes come without brakes, because a lot of guys take them off anyhow. Get the Wrap. Just make sure you run a lot of pressure in the tires.

Thanks Minichamp. Why do you recommend the Wrap over the Cleaveland?

My two local bike shops keep pushing me towards the Haro F4 (they're both Haro distributors) - they won't sell either of the above bikes, but did acknowledge that Dan's Comp was a good place to buy from if I didn't buy from them, as well as acknowledge both those bikes were very well suited for my application. But - they said the F4 was the best match that they carried.

Thoughts on the F4 vs the Warp or Cleavland? I know most of you are Haro haters, so if you're going to bash Haro, please provide specifics to the F4 as to why I shouldn't go with that particular bike.

Thanks.

Hey - I updated the title in my original post, but it doesn't reflect it for some reason? I changed it to "DK Cleavland vs. Stolen Wrap vs Haro F4" by editing my original post up top. Any one have any ideas? Thanks.:crash:
