While mourning the departure of Old Blue (Triathlon bike) and White Thunder I noticed the odd sensation of a wad of $20 bills clogging my pocket. I immediately took action. The result is some proper old school bikes I'll be picking up Friday.

Nothing rides quite like vintage steel. Wasn't the Grand Record Motobecane's top end bike or was it the Grand Sprint? Way to go. Lp
Nice bikes. I'm partial to the Moto, but maybe that's just because of the cool blue bike support. :)
I really like older bikes. I like fixing them up, keeping them on the road, etc. Glad they helped you to deal with your losses! Enjoy!

The Moto is kinda MEAN lookin'. Much like Chuck Norris: A bit old, but can still kick your butt.
I like the Moto too. I think that Mojo Slim hit the nail on the head and you should call it "Chuck"

I picked the bikes up today. The Peugeot is a bit of a dissappointment because the back wheel rim is torn. The bikes weigh 23 and 24 lbs. Not too bad. The Moto's Brooks Professional is cracked and a bit worn out.
If I keep Chuck (the Moto) I'll change him in stages. The first is new bar tape, and converting to bar end shifting, B5N black Brooks saddle, and aero brake levers (hoods shot anyway). That will be paired with my 9 speed Cane Creek wheelset. The current Campy hubs/Newer Campy rim tubulars is going over to my Alan Shorter bike. The second stage is funds recovery. The TA crank and Campy bits sold off on ebay and my Sugino Compact Crankset (off my CX bike), Shimano FD, and DA RD (vintage) installed. The CX will get a Trutativ 53/39 crankset and ISIS BB (on hand already). With the Bionx kit I'll need higher gearing to keep the speed up.
