After only a month back in the saddle, my wife road 58 miles yesterday (she's 52). Not bad.

That is very impressive. I read about such things from time to time and am always impressed by it. No way on earth could have I done that one month after starting back up.

58 miles after only one month, she could probably pass for 20 something.

How long was she out of the saddle and what kind of riding was she doing before?

She's ridden little or not at all for the last 15 years. Before that we'd go on some20-30 mile rides, and we did a self-supporting seven-day bike tour in Sweden in 1992. But she runs a few days/week and is in good shape.
