Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I could say something, but it would only mess up the beauty of this bike.

That is cool!! When someone buys one, you can make some "adjustments" and then go test ride it. And your test ride will "accidentally" turn into a 50 mile spin..LOL!! Do you know what the price is on one?

Gosh, I used to lust at my Klein Quantum Pro. The two tone paint job is a work of beauty. Love the bike, the ride is nice.. But I have wondered about the quality of the titantium Litespeed? Shoud I have lusted for that one and its reputation.
The other day a bunch of bikes were parked at a coffee shop in Carlsbad. I parked my Klein next to a Trek, aluminum frame, similiar to Lance's . That really got to me. That is a work of art also. Guess to an addicted male cyclists, bikes can get like women, need the thrill of a new model.
When I took my Klein out of the store, co- riders told me, other cyclists gauked at my Quantum Pro. Now its less than pristine paint job causes that Trek to look pretty good.
ps- When I first pulled up this thread, the Pinarello had not yet downloaded. Did not understand your point. I know see the visual and it is breath-taking. Congratulations. More awesome than Lance's Trek.
13,000!!!! That would be about 6,500 here in the USA right? Seeing as how I am a mortal I will have to find a Pinarello more suited to a mortal.

Not necessarily. I'm sure Buddy has his own reasons for exiting.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. They didn't name it Dream Plus for nothing. And at $4,000USD it seems like a bargain.
Oh man, Pinarello bikes are SUPER nice!!
I am going to save up for this one...Hopefully I will get it in 2002..and then in 2003, STINKY!!!
pffft, hey fubar5!! get a clue man!! you'll never have a pinarello or a stinky!!
Why don't you stop talking?? http://sumtercap.homestead.com/files/dream.jpg

Then I suggest you look at the De Rosa (http://www.derosa.it/) site. If I have a favourite bike, it's the De Rosa Merak. I saw one up close recently and I couldn't believe how beautifult it was. The paint was is understated [the Tacconi Sport scheme], yet elegant, and it had a kind of silky finish that you don't find on American bikes; the welds were so smooth that it looked like the whole bike was made from a single piece of tubing. Pictures don't do it justice. I'm normally a steel kinda guy, but the Merak would get me to embrace alu...
Alright, you guys are making me stay on this thread a little too long over here. ...posting all of these beautiful bikes... No! *hits back button*. ;)

Yeah, but you seriously considered it and that's almost as bad! ;)
Actually, your predicament -- which to buy -- became a topic of conversation among the guys I ride with. It's not that we have such crummy bikes [that day there were a bunch of Marinonis, a Litespeed, a Trek and a Specialized in Festina colours], but we spent most of the ride indulging in bikes lust, discussing the relative merits of Moser, Olmo, De Rosa, Pinarello, Colnago and all the rest. It came down to "a choice between two great frames... that's the kind of problem I want to have."

LoL! I'm glad I could provide you with a conversation topic! :D And, hey, I wouldn't even mind owning any of those brands you mentioned!

It's funny about these great bikes. I entered my first triathlon this year and as I was walking around the transition area and getting ready I was admiring all the incredible hardware out there and wishing I could have something like that. Then the race was underway and when the bike section came about and I was passing a good number of these great bikes it made me wonder if that is what I really "need" or just really "want". I think it must be a little embarassing as I pass a $4000.00 dream bike on my $200 second-hand beater.
I know that I still want one of these even if it is just to ride alone but that is a lot of money to fork out for bike.
I think Lance is very right when he says that "It's not the bike". I think what I would really like is a new set of lungs and legs and maybe then I will look at the bike.:)

I am going to save up for this one...
Hey Fubar,
Good luck with that savings man. That's definitely out of my price range. Obviously people are buying them or they wouldn't be selling them.

They are pretty much out of my price range too, but hey, I can try. The one I want to save fore has the Shimano 105 group, so I am guessing it is in the 1600 to 2000 dollar range. I will probably wind up with a trek 2200 or something.:D Oh well.

this "was" my dream bike now I own it and am looking for another Dream...:D
Yeaaaah, the Klien road bikes are nice. The only thing I dislike is the fork..I like look of the fork on the Pinarello. What kind of fork is that? An "Aero" fork? The Klien is still nice though.

The fork is an ICON air rail carbon...This is my first venture into road bikes, but so far I absoutly love it. I have upgraded the wheels to Rolf Vector Pros, and put my favorite seat and post on it, but other than that its stock. Full Ultegra and a sweet ride.:) :)

midwestmtnbkr...your're going to have to change your username with a bike like that!
Great looking bike!
..
just to mate a full campy groupset (from Vicenza) with a frame by a small manufacturer called Cavalera (also from Vicenza). no better way of showing campy off than a top built frame which is just down the road from them.
i have an "older" frame of theirs in columbus altec2 and am very impressed.
http://www.stc.it/cavalera/home.htm but sorry its in italian only
:)
Pinarellos, RIGHT ON! I am anxiously awaiting the arival of my Pinarello Opera which is their steel/carbon frameset. I had a HECK of a time hunting down the Fassa Bartolo paint scheme but I did it. I should have it next week.
That Cavalera looks great too!
alright, here is the Top of my current lust list.
A Serotta Ottrott (I tried to post picture, didn't work).
at a very reasonable USD5000 for the frame (fork not included).
then there's the 1976 Colnago Mexico with Campy SR and Clement Silks....
Ah to dream.....
