I did a search and couldn't find much relating to bars besides "buy what feels right".

What here is the drop bar of choice for clydes?

I was measured at RBM and they suggested a 46. I wanted to stay with Aluminum so I checked out the Easton EA70. After reading reviews (which I am glad I did), many people complained that there was way too much flex. At 245 I was looking for something very stiff.

Ideally I am looking for; minimal drop, very stiff, works well with shimano shifters/brake levers, strong (wont break if my dog knocks my bike over and the bars hit the ground), and black.

Thanks for the input.

I've been very happy with my Salsa Moto-Ace Bell Lap bars.

Ergo molded drops, moderate flare, comfortable section at the tops, and I don't notice much flex to them even during off-the-saddle climbs.

A little bit of flex isn't a bad thing. Without it, every little crevice and pebble on the road is going to end up being transmitted right to your hands and arms as vibration.
