Just wanted to let you all know about the experience that I had at Seven Corners Cycles in Portland, OR. I went in on a Sunday hoping to ride both a Surly Long Haul Trucker as well as a Surly Cross Check. I knew I needed either a 60cm or 62cm and was hoping that they had either in stock for both bikes. They had a 60cm LHT in stock and the biggest CC was a 58. I rode the LHT first and it was the correct size, it felt great. Then, to my surprise, the salesman (Clint) told me he would order the CC in a 60cm just so I could test ride it, no obligation to buy. I told him that wasn't necessary, that I would just ride the 58 to see how it felt (and I did). But when I came back, he insisted that he order it for me to ride. That was just over a week ago and he just called me yesterday saying that it had come in and was all ready for me to come ride. These guys are great! Not only do they have great customer service, but they are very knowledgeable as well. If you live in the Portland area and are looking to buy a Surly, I would strongly recommend heading to Seven Corners. I'm looking forward to going back to ride the Cross Check.

I love this place. Easily my favorite bike shop in town. None of the pretentious bike mechs looking down their noses at you. I go outta my way to go here.

7 Corners is great! I bought my Cross Check there last year and have been completely satisfied. When I did my first test ride Corey just gave me the bike in the morning, said, "Go ride for a while, we close at 6." I asked if he needed my driver's license or anything for security, he just said, "No, you look like an honest guy." They have great customer service, and they always work me in to their service schedule, not matter how busy they are.

I usually deal with the Woodstock Bike Gallery store, but when i was looking for a product they did not have, Seven Corners is where they suggested as the non-BG shop they prefer. Seems like a good shop from my limited experience.

So I must update you on my latest bike buying adventure with Seven Corners. It has been a long time, I know. But life has been super busy (and I think that I have been over-thinking things too;)). I called to make sure that they still have a 60cm Cross Check in stock, and they did. So I head over to on Saturday at about 12 noon or so, and get there, and they are somewhat busy (all 3 were with someone), but they were friendly and said that they would be with me in just a moment. Ric breaks free and I get out on the Cross Check. It rides great! I get back and am talking to Ric about the bike, and the difference between it and the Long Haul Trucker. I let him know that I think that the Trucker has better than that CC and worth the extra $100. He agrees. So I ask a question in which I am expecting a "no." Would it be possible to get the CC with Trucker Components? For the Trucker price? He says he needs to ask Corey (the owner). So Corey walks over, pats me on the back several times and says, "whatever you want, man." To this I'm shocked, and stoked! So we talk a little about the details (which include me buying Corey a case of Tecate beer for doing this:D), and I let them know that I was going to ride one more bike and that I would let them know what I have decided. To make a long story short, I went back about an hour later and order the black Cross Check and they are swapping the parts kit from a Trucker onto my frame. These guys are so awesome. I can't think of any other retail place period that takes care of their customers like they do at Seven Corners. Its pretty amazing and I am looking forward to working with them for all my bike needs. I'll post a picture of the new bike as soon as I get it (which should be early next week).

That is awesome! I have never been to Seven Corners but want to go now. I just love doing business with down to earth folks. It's great living in Portland and having the best bike shops around. Kudos to Seven C.:thumb:
