Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've posted about this before, but I'm so close I just need a bit more help to reach my commitment.

Background:

I'm a Dad of 5 kids. My 6 year old daughter happens to be a type I Diabetic (commonly referred to as "Juvenile Diabetes").

Type I Diabetes is a life long affliction. It is not something you "outgrow", it isn't cause by being fat or eating too much sugar (in fact you would be hard pressed to find even a slightly overweight type I Diabetic due to the effect of the high blood sugar episodes).

As such, I commited to helping raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by riding 105 miles in Death Valley, California on October 18, 2008.

How to help:

Visit my daughter's dedication/contribution page at: www.rideformadison.com

As you will see, I'm less than $500 away from reaching my goal. Anything you can donate is appreciated. Heck, don't donate but send it to people/companies that you think may would be great as well.

If all goes real well I will far exceed my goal (I win a green jersey if I raise the most funds...unlikely, but a worthy goal in itself).

Thanks for everyones support/assistance/well wishes!

Jason
