HI,
My question is which rim depth should i have in my bike? 50mm ? 60mm ?
is the 60mm more aerodynamic? let´s say that the weight is the same in both wheels.
I´m a triathlon athlete and the biggest event I ride is the Olympic 40 km ( 25 miles )
i´m 75 kg (165 lbs ).
thank you :thumb:

The deeper, the more aero. The reason to go less deep is dependent on wind conditions, especially for the front where gusts can give light weight riders steering problems. This is less an issue with the back where disk wheels or wheel covers can actually improve handling in strong winds. For your size, you should be able to ride a 60 mm/disk combo without issue.

And how about 80s, the Flashpoints look really nice and the price is too :)

Just to let you know, Flashpoints are Zipp rims of the older non-dimpled design.

Go as deep as you can afford, front and back. Consider a wheel cover for the rear wheel--at about $100, it's more bang for your buck in terms of speed than most stuff out there.

Generally the deeper, the better. However, some rims aren't as aero as others. So the shape is important too. The downside of deep rims is handling in crosswinds. That can make you slower and handling tricky.

If you can afford only one wheelset, I thinh 50's is a good compromise.

Woahh woahhh. It takes some mighty wicked crosswinds to make aero wheels ot worth it. Exactly what rahzel said, as deep as you can afford. I'm way lighter than you and ride a Hed 3 on the front which is 55mm deep but equivalent to an 808 in handling.
