Okay, I'm just under 6', she's just under 5'-6".

We think I should be around a 58cm-60cm road bike and her a 48cm-50cm. She isn't a very long-legged woman, so she doesn't care much about WSD. In fact, those seem to feel a bit short to her in the top tube.

So, do you think a road bike that is 21"/19" would fit? Like, this one:

I'm open to swapping out stems.

We have a 21/19 C'dale from the very early '90's. I'm 5'11" and my wife/stoker is 5'3"+. The bike is a great fit for us. I use a 100mm stem up front and she uses an adjustible one that is out near the max. You should have plenty of adjustability IMHO.

It will likely fit but you should make a condition of the sale that the thing actually fit you (the captain), I am sure it will fit your stoker just fine.
