A bit tired now, but proud of myself. :)

Saturday - Mt Diablo (with Alex) - 72 miles including the riding to and from BART (SFO - Walnut Creek - Millbrae)

Monday - Mt Hamilton (BF group ride) - 40 miles cause I got a ride from Henry

Today - Mt Tam (solo) - 90 miles including the riding to and from BART (Millbrae - Daly City and back), this was also my longest completely solo ride to date.

Oh, and more reason to stay on the conservative side while descending....I was heading down from West Peak (the highest paved part), around 2 pm, when all of a sudden a deer darts out across the road just in front of me. I did my emergency braking, fishtailed a bit (luckily I was on a straight and not a corner), and missed it by a couple of feet.

Thanks guys! :)

I forgot to mention that I had never done Diablo or Hamilton before, and had only gotten up to Pan Toll on Tam before (never to the peaks), so those were all firsts for me.

Very impressive! Looks like you're training for Ramon's consecutive bay area peaks ride.

We knew it was just a matter of time until you showed those climbs who is boss. Was the junk food hut open at the top? I'm usually craving something from there about the time of the sharp little incline past the big white golf ball structure.

When Ramon and I did 4 Mts in 4 days...Diablo kicked my butt, I bonked big time. Hamilton was the easiest cause I talked and rode slow all the way. Tam I ride a lot so it doesnt get me too bad unless I'm with the crazy foursome. Marco, Ramone Henry and Tim...then I'm screwed! Just like this coming weekend.

Paula, give me a call and come up and do San Bruno with me! You've got to finish it off...As long as you take it easy on me!

Tam is easier than Diablo, from any approach to either hill.

Thanks again everyone for the nice comments! :)

Was the junk food hut open at the top? I'm usually craving something from there about the time of the sharp little incline past the big white golf ball structure.

You know, I didn't check...I was full after my orange, had to save the apple for later. I think it was closed though, none of the tourists came back with food.

Do your quads feel like they could use a good massage now? :D

Oh yeah, still sore today. Can't decide which was harder yesterday...the last steep climb up John Daly Blvd, or hauling my bike up and down multiple flights of stairs at Millbrae BART.

:p

Hey now, you guys have more muscle mass in your legs, it all evens out. ;)

I dunno, she's always toting that big backpack :D...

 Yep, the ubiquitous backpack came with me up all 3.

Good job! :thumb: You must be on vacation or something. Shouldn't you be traveling out of the country or something? :D

Yeah, on vacation this week and next. This is my "stay at home" week, next week I am headed up to the San Juan Islands for a week of kayaking. :D

Hmmm, hard to compare, as my legs got more tired each time.

I'd say that Diablo was the most challenging (did the North Gate side), but also the most satisfying to finish. It was also nice to look down and see my progress all the time.

Tam was the most scenic climb, plus had the most shade (it was about 100 degrees for both Tam and Diablo, a bit cooler for Hamilton).

Hamilton had the best company (you guys). :D

San bruno is a nice slow slight climb to halfway/ usually with tailwind then a couple of almost steep short sections. If I can do it on a Single spd...You'll have no probleemo! and I'll take you for a Soy latte after!
Pete
Time and place-Daley City Bart would make it real easy! and you can name time...

Are you on a mission? I think this thread should be re-labeled to something like "tackling as many mountains as my legs could withstand" ... I'm jealous ... I gotta work tomorrow. But it was freakin' hot out there ... near 100 in Santa Clara.

From daley city bart it will be ... Blink! done. If we leave right at 10 you'll have plenty of time to make it back. Try to park. at the Bart of W. Lake Mall. let me know if it's w. Lake mall and maybe Ill ride up to bart with you.

Funny - tomorrow I'll be doing San Bruno Mountain during my lunch, sounds like you'll be long finished by the time I'm there. I'll likely be getting to the start of the climb on Guadalupe Canyon (bay side) just before 12.

Enjoy!

That would be a nice bonus -- I normally try to leave my office by 11:30-ish, since it's a 20min ride to the start of the climb. I'll see if I can get out a little early, but I expect you guys will have shot through long before though.

If you see someone on a black Roubaix wearing black bibshorts, green PI jersey, white helmet and red face -- that'll be me.

OK. Bart it is. Turns out my M-I-L will be here tomorrow and can pick up my son at 12:30, so my deadline is not so firm after all. Perhaps we can climb up a couple of times ;).
