I'm posting this in here cause I figured many of the people who work on bikes may know the proper size. I would like to know the correct sizing for a bottom bracket on an 1983 Schwinn World Sport. If I could get an answer, it'd be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

The BB shell itself is a standard 68mm width english thread shell. The spindle length will vary depending on the crankset. That peice of the puzzle is the more difficult to answer.

My '80 or '81 WS used a SR Silstar crank that IIRC required a 124mm spindle with about 5mm of drive side offset.

Ok cool, thanks so far. So if I'm getting a new BB and a new crankset, both are IRO and from pricepoint.com, they'll most likely be perfectly compatible with each other, correct?

They probably go together. I would find the cheapest I could, if I were you; the World Sport was nothing special. In fact, considering that a new crank and BB will cost you $50 or so, I might start thinking about buying a newer used bike instead of putting a brand new crank on that one.
