Road Bike Racing - Silence-Lotto on Canyon.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Never heard of them. Now I have. Sponsoring pro's has it's place.

German direct sales company. Decent bikes but nothing really cutting edge. If Evans stays he's going backwards on the TT rig.

I don't know about that. The new Canyon TT bike looks pretty damn sharp.
Although if they're riding LW's, he's giving up 20s+ over 40km right there.

I'd lean heavily towards the Dean based on the numbers I've seen from the different frame designs out there.

They aren't publicly traded, but if they were, I would own a few shares.
Canyon has been missing since Unibet.com died. I'm very happy to see their rigs back in the peloton.

it's not about the bike.

I'd quickly buy Canyon frames if they had a reliable dealer in the U.S.

It's a bike race. Without the bikes, they'd be going nowhere.

They don't have dealers, period. Factory direct. I looked into a purchase a few years ago, not much bigger a hassle than buying from PBK.
The road frames are said to be stiff, weight competitive, but with the aerodynamic properties of a bus.
Biggest thing they have going for them is price, especially if you buy a package with the Lightweight wheels.

OK, so I'm sure that the decision to ride Canyon was based on sponsorship $$$, but I'm gonna go ahead anyway and say that Lotto has good taste.
This arrived at my door last week. Yes, it is amazing (and way more than I'll ever need). Wheels are on their way out though, I'm not the biggest fan of Ksyriums.

the aerodynamic properties of a bus.
Edit: Judging from my downtube and seattube, I'm inclined to agree. It doesn't look to be too much worse than, say, an R3 though.
