Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hi, I'm new to the forums, I want to buy a Dawes SST as my first fixed gear bike from http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/dawes/sst.htm.
I realize I will have to buy a fixed cog and lock ring as well. If anyone has any recommendations that would be appreciated.
I was hoping someone could tell me what the best size would be for me. Here are my measurements:
Inseam - 33" (with shoes)
Height - 6'
I will be using this bike for city commuting, not more than a couple of miles, and casual riding.
Thanks

Given your height, I'd say go for the 58, but you might be OK on the 56. No one is going to be able to give you a better answer without more data.

What do you need in terms of more data?
Arm length: 24"
Weight: 200lbs
Shoe size: 13" (lol)

start with a fit calculator such as this...

Take these results, then carefully evaluate the geometry of the SST.

for the kind of riding you mention, you want a more upright position. So you want a larger frame so the height of the bars is close to the height of the seat.
I ride a 56 and am 2 inches shorter than you. My clothing inseam is ~ 32, but measured as should be done for a bike, it's 33. I suspect same is true for you - meaning you if you use the link above, your probably a 34 for bike purposes, so I'd suggest 58.
