When I hit reply to this, I have to log in.

After I hit submit, I will no longer be logged in.

Really frustrating.

Clear your cookies, log back in, see if that works. It's been working for everyone so far.

That's not working for me. Everytime I visit the site, I have to log in. I erased my cookies too.

Browser info? What are you running, that way it can be passed along to tech....

Did not work.

I use Safari, IE and Firefox.

Same thing on all three browsers.

Odd, I can't replicate the problem, and I've tried on all 3 of those browsers, as well as Google Chrome, Opera, and an old version of Netscape that's not even supported anymore. I'll kick it to tech.

I have IE7, I think.

OK, so do I. I have several other browsers I use for testing purposes though. Stormybot, our webmaster is monitoring this thread as well, so hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Since you use IE7, what's the setting you have for cookies, is it allow, or delete after session, and where do you have your security levels set?

Make sure you click the remember me check box.
Before the upgrade, if I did not click the box it would kick me off after about ten mins.

It was working for me.

Now back to the way it was, booting me out after a few minutes and after every time I try to post.

Frustrating.

Do any of you use a program that cleans your cache out on a scheduled basis? System Mechanic is one off the top of my head, there are others (Registry ------?) or some other security program?

One of you mentioned IE6 (friend, IE EIGHT is in beta and XP has been worked out really well, get XP if you can) with a few others mentioned, so this leads me to believe you are not talking about a Windows or other browser problem in general.

EDIT: This posted immediately.

Deleted my cookies, no fix.

I'm running XP using IE7; haven't tried it with Firefox yet.

What's key to remember here is that I--and other users--used to stay logged on for days before the upgrade. I haven't changed any of the settings of my OS or my browser. I doubt that changing them now is going to make the difference.

After writing a lengthy post yesterday (I was logged in when I started writing) I chose "Submit Reply" and got the "You must log in to post" screen. I was afraid I had lost the post, but clicked the back button and found it. Coulda been worse, I guess.

Not sure what, if anything has changed, but I'm not getting dumped anymore...

Remember that normally BF will not lose your stuff if you log back in as they direct you to and you will have your last action completed. If you leave the site you may have to log in again and previous data you were entering may be lost to the server...at least tht's how I see it.

I've been having the same problem. Deleting 'cookies' as me speak.

ie 7.0.5730 (or is it .5370) can't stay logged in either. My work version of ie which is probably the same works fine though. Only have the problem at home (only likely difference = xp home vs xp pro or whatever it's called)

ps-> yeah the 'remember me' checkbox isn't working either, at home

Yep - tosses me in about 10 minutes. Have to login again. Running Firefox 3.0. IE6 is the spawn of Satan. And stay well clear of Google Chrome. Read their contract carefully - they will own everything you do or say unless it's already patented/copywritten by someone else.

I don't know if it's SATANIC but IE7 is a bit more fun.

Anybody tried the IE8 beta that might have pointers?

I am not a fan of any Google apps except for You Tube and they are working hard to try and kill it wholesale gradually. Might be some actual patience there, unlike the rest of it.

PS (edit) Everything here is moving along quickly, even with another computer being fully updated from an original XP build and spyware, antivirus and glitches being repaired (hopefully 256 MB more 333 MHz PC2700 for 512 also) to get a Compaq tuned and running properly for a friend. I got a few Kool-Aid packets, six pack of diet Shasta cola and a couple strips of round steak to assist me along the way so I used some Italian style seasoning and a brown gravy packet with some Tuscan like Italian dressing to make some really nice choped steak sandwiches. Made the whole day. Would've done it anyway it's for the 26 yo daughter of my old girlfriend and her family. I don't let half-witted things out of my care and I have parts usually,

yep, same version of ie at work as at home, yet at work I stay logged in, and at home I can't.

My problem was in Firefox. Found an "exception" for BF in the Tools, Options, Security, Passwords, Remember Passwords. Removed the exception and all is well.
