Conestoga

I started riding bikes as an adult back in the mid-70s in NYC, both for commuting and pleasure. About 5 years ago my wife and I carted our bikes up to our home in Nova Scotia, Canada, where we spend about half our time. (NYC had gotten too bike-hostile for me, even after over 20 years of urban riding.)
I really enjoy peddling about, although I'm strictly a hobbyist. I chose the name "Conestoga" because we carry so much stuff on our little rides, my wife refers to us as the Conestogas of casual riders. (Come on, don't you think I could have 3 flats, 2 broken chains, 4 snapped cables, and a sucking chest wound in a 25-mile ride?)
That said, I've done some serious bike maintenance/rebuilding. Also used to rebuild and turn over old Triumph cars, so my mechanical skills are pretty good. However, I often find myself challenged in the nutty world of bicycle parts--especially after a hiatus. So I turn to my superiors for help. Thanks in advance, one and all.
