Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Shogun Cr-Mo 400 with lugged Champion tubing frame

Any thoughts on the suitability for a heavy Clydesdale? I believe it to be one of their lower end models but it may be mid level.

It should be just fine. Granted, I have a biased, but I think for folks looking to get a road bike and who aren't sure if it's something they are going to be able to do or stick with, Vintage steel is a great option.

Another nice thing about vintage road bikes is that they have nice spoke counts. You will get either 32 or 36.

Champion tubing pretty much eliminates any concern of it being an entry level ride. Your lug work is nice too.

I'd say you have a very nice find on your hands. It would be well received over in C&V.

Or, he could go the opposite direction and go single speed fixed. ;) If he does, though, keep the parts and do NOT grind off the fittings so it can be restored to a geared bike.

That's a mid level Shogun,nice ride.Production Shoguns are called:100,200,400 and so on.Back in the "good old" days,you could send them your measurments and they would custom make frames and you could order all kinds of components.So you can find some interesting things on Shoguns at times.

Buy it!

Frames can hold significantly more weight then wheels.
