Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I rode in a challenging and scenic Century last year up in Mendocino County "The Harvest Ride"

Link: http://www.harvestride.com

It has about 6000 feet of climbing and is on some gorgeous roads. It is Sunday, Oct 5th.

This Century is new, 3rd year this year. It seems to be under the radar of most cyclists for some reason. Maybe it is since the Konochti Challenge is the day before.

Anyway, I will be riding in it again and I just wanted to put it out there in case any one is interested and for general awareness to the NorCal Forum gang.

I have attached an elevation profile for the first 44 miles. This goes over the Mountain House Road hill from Ukiah/Hopland to HWY 128 in the Anderson Valley. It then runs along HWY 128 to Boonville where it then goes over a nice bump you have to get over on HWY253 to get back to Ukiah. After that first 44 miles most of the climbing is over. You get to climb up to the dam at Lake Mendocio and ride on top of the dam before turning south and heading to the finish. Good rest stops. Great post ride meal. Benefits Boys and Girls Clubs of Mendocino County.

You were telling me about this on last Saturday's ride. Sounds pretty cool.
I'll have to keep this ride in my jersey pocket for the time being. I'm doing the Diablo Challenge that day.

Too many great rides, not enough time - same weekend as the Grizzly Century, another great ride.
