Wasn't a stealer. But in college, went into the classrooms at night and messed with profs stuff....glued phone handset down to receiver, took all the keys of one profs keyboard, took the white board off the wall and moved it to another room, and a few other annoying things like that. One time I manage to get into the chem. lab. Made some tri-nitro iodide....very good stuff....perfectly stable when wet...very unstable when dry. Took a bobby pin and put some in the door locks while it was wet. Wish I had been a fly on the wall to watch in the morning.

I had just became certified in Scuba when I was 18, and I wanted one of those things that clips to your vests, and holds your gauge hose in place. I couldn't find one for sale, so I snagged one from a BCD in the dive shop.
Man, it's so much nicer not having that hose just dangling around, 8 years later.

I have stolen a golf course flag, and the letter "A" from the side of the Lenoir Mall.
Great delinquents steal alike.
So somehow beer makes young males want tee and A? Who knew.

I've stolen a bag of firewood. And got caught. Possibly the worst day of my life. I was ~16.
You mess with firewood, you're gonna get burned.

I didn't steal this but this is the strangest thing I've thought about stealing:
I thought about stealing the ceramic grinding part to replace the one I cracked in my pepper grinder (IKEA pepper grinder). Fiance bought me another one when she discovered I broke mine and that solved my problem.
Time at work cruising the internet :D

That did explain why she was so heartless after the divorce.

A friend and I were spending some time at a beach house for part of one summer, and we didn't plan very well. We weren't going hungry, but we didn't have a lot of variety. We found another cabin with an open window and got in, and stole pancake mix.

Some kids used to store a skateboard ramp in the garbage enclosure in a parking lot behind where I used to live. My neighbors and I got really irritated at the constant noise and trash created by the skateboarding, but the lot's owner wouldn't do anything about it ("its just kids having some honest fun"). Lets just say it was there one day, gone the next, never to be seen again, and neither me nor my neighbors saw or heard anything.

A tube of lipstick from Target, just today. I grabbed it from the clearance rack, put it in my cart, forgot about it, and the checker didn't see it. Oops.

My cousin steals restaurant menus. Not the kind they give away either--the ones that are laminated and/or in those fancy menu holders that are *clearly* to be kept for restaurant use.

Senior year in H.S. it was tradition for the chalk holder and "water spigot" (Chemistry/ Physics classroom was seperate from the "Lab" area. The teacher's desk had a sink and faucet (water spigot) for demo's before we went in the lab.) to come up missing. A buddy and I snuck into the classroom (Not our hour we had this teacher) while that class was in the lab, and swiped the water spigot! Another friend who happened to be in that class got blamed as she was the only one who happened to go back in the classroom area that hour! :innocent: We had it show up a few months later in a School PLay when we got to go see the play during class. The look on our teachers face was PRICELESS! He got it back, used JB Weld around the base, and thought it was safe! lol It was for a month or so!
Instead of the whole thing missing AGAIN with just the faucet base sitting there, he was stuck with the 10" or so vertical pipe sticking out of the faucet base. We had the 90, and curved horizontal pipe for another month or so at the end of the year.

Obviously I started this thread as a typical Foo spinoff, but the honesty is appreciated. Feels good to get it off your chest, no doubt.

when I was in high school once me and my
buddy walked down this one street and broke car windows
and rifled through people's tapes--if their tapes
were lame we would smash them. so that is theft in the
ultimate sense--so i guess i stole some bad 80s music.
no i don't do stuff like this anymore.
