Now I am officially in the fold, so to speak, thanks to a kind and generous BFer who gifted me this older "project" Dahon. I wish I had a "before" shot, as I cleaned off quite a bit of rust and had everything rebuilt.

Oh, the year of this Stowaway is 1987.

Does anyone know if a rear bumper/and/or rack might still be available?

Dunno about the rack, but the current Dahon fenders for 16in wheels will probably fit.

I`we got one too. I did nit have the curage to do the rear gear thing (kept it 3 gear hub) but I changed the heavy crank arms & ring. Also put alu rims. Mine has got a rack and fenders. Heavy still and I struggle ewery time I use it, since I forget what is the best way to fold / unfold it from one time to the next.

I just acquired an '86 hon that is rust-free, but has some play in the steering coupling. I'd like to get any ideas on how to tighten it up, if you or anyone else had to deal with that. It seems to be quite a unique design.

By the way, is that a roller-brake only system?

My Stowaway has a rear drum brake.

No issue with the steering coupling, so sorry, no help here...
