What a fun ride, I'm glad you guys could all make it out! :)
My legs suffered a bit, but not too bad, 43 miles and 2300' today, guess that is my "recovery ride". :p
It was so nice and empty on the bay trail on the way home, I rode the last 3 miles at 17-18 mph no-handed (except for a couple of bumpy bits and suicidal squirrels). :D

Big congrats Paula ... wish I could have been out there. But then again, when I saw my car's themometer reach 100 F  maybe it was nice to be slaving away in an air conditioned techie building.

Yeah, my cyclocomputer showed 106 at one point!
How come Paula's the only one in the big chainring? HA HA I'm not ridin with her

I think she's been getting tips from Henry on how to take a picture with the bike. :D

Don't be misled, I used my little ring too. Did you see Pete's single-speed? The man is nuts!

Ya, Pete is made of something else. I'm glad my MTB has a 24T chainring:p

Heh............I think that's where Paula's thermometer read 106. Thanks for the ride everybody.
Hmm -- I need to practice my closeup technique a little.
Congrats Paula, it was a really nice bonus to finally meet you guys in person. I hung out at the bottom of the hill for a few minutes before heading up radio road solo. This was likely a good thing, since it saved me the embarrassment of you seeing how bad I climb. Funny thing is, I was just getting into that nice sweeping down hill when I saw the light turn red by the turning to Cow Palace. Just as I was being a good citizen and slowing, I see a yellow blur rapidly ascending the other way....
It was certainly warm enough today -- don't tell me I was the only one wearing the sheen of greatness?
Aw man, you guys just had to post the pictures from the top, didn't you? What a view! Now I'm even more bummed that I couldn't make the ride portion of the, um, ride. (Especially considering how the rest of my day went!) Oh well, glad you guys had a great ride, and it was good to see you all for the first time in... three days? :P
Did you see Pete's single-speed? The man is nuts! :lol:You probably didn't see him on the way down the mountain, but that's because he was drafting me at about 50 MPH!
it saved me the embarrassment of you seeing how bad I climb.Dude, don't even worry about it. I think everyone here has had the "pleasure" of waiting for my ass to get to the top on numerous occasions, and judging by your Diablo thread, you would have been added to that list today. ;)

 -- there's nothing wrong with setting low expectations in a situation like this.
Seriously though, I'm impressed with you making it up radio road on your SS Pete -- I feel stoked if I don't shift out of 39x24.
Wow.. nice work you guys and GAL! Alan, I seriously did not know you had a "normal" bike. I've never seen you on anything except a folder and or that wild contraption from the HMB ride. Cool stuff!
