I was watching DC/NV/MD craigslist for the last several weeks and today all of a sudden theres 6 postings (titled STOLEN) and its only 8pm. major bike stealing gang striking a bunch of areas at once?

on the other hand, i left a note on a bike at a metro station telling the owner to lock up their FRAME instead of their front wheel. i know it worked because the next day the frame is locked up.

Maybe someone has 6 bikes they legitimately own and wish to sell. I know people who have that many.

Or, perhaps Craigslist uploaded in batches.

A "major" bike gang would have a whole lot more than 6 in any case. More like 60.

May not have anything to do with the CL listings but I saw a message on the (Capitol) Hill East email list about a recent rash of bike thefts.

I had my last bike stolen at 3rd and East Capitol on Capitol Hill about two months ago. I had a cable lock and have since invested in a better lock.
