I just came across this travelog written by Neil Gunton,
he toured the US in 98 and his travelog is hosted in "crazyguyonabike.com" website.
this travelog is so funny you gonna love it !!!.here are some quotes :
"As I tried to settle in that night a large group next door had the inevitable arsehole With A Guitar"
"The shimmy was increasing. I tried moving more stuff to the front, but it seemed worse still now. I was mystified, and pissed. Dan went on, I limped into Madison at 10mph. The shimmy seemed to hit at particular speeds, I remember around 12 mph was one. Unfortunately it always seemed to be just the speed which I wanted to be cruising at."
"Yay! Into Montana. And just so you know, they do NOT appreciate jokes about militias or mail bombers living in remote huts "
"That evening was TV Night. I watched the Star Trek movie: "The Undiscovered Country", and later, the Seinfeld show. A couple of girls came down as well and a German kid sat writing home, it was very hostel-like and friendly. There was one somewhat bizarre occurrence: There was a public pay phone in the living room, and when it kept ringing I finally went over and picked up. It was a very rude woman who wanted her sister. I told her that I didn't know where her sister was and that she should call the front desk. She didn't know the number and nor did I, so I told her about that 411 thing we keep hearing about. But she actually persisted and wanted me to run around looking for her sister like I was a receptionist or something. She didn't even know the room number. I told her I had better things to do, whereupon she started demanding my name. I hung up. It all felt a bit like one of the skits from Seinfeld."
"Left my little log cabin motel late morning, called Mom, then had breakfast: french toast & omelette at the diner next door. The girl gave me extra french toast when I complained about the advertised "4 slices" really being 4 half slices. Hah. Justice was served."
