Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - heaviest load ridden with?

Alright after reading Merton's post at the cyclocross forum (don't put yourself through reading it), I started thinking about the heaviest/largest load (don't go there) I ridden with, for me it was a complete Pedro's Tool Kit and repair stand (kit in the messenger bag the stand barely strapped on) and rode 3 miles to drop the stuff at my dorm...go at it folks, whose the biggest beefcake of the group?

edit: don't say what that 5 year old in you wants to....

I think the biggest load ive carried was the 90 pounds of blubber ive lost since i started riding.

heaviest would have to be two large bags of aquarium rocks...maybe 25lbs? and a bunch of other stupid awuarium stuff for my girlfriend.

largest/most awkward would have to be when i carried one of my other frames on my back, or some wheels...or my friend max on the handlebars of my BMX...that was pretty awkward...

Dose it count if you use a trailer?

and a small cement deer I found on the side of the road

previous to this month the most/heaviest was a case of pepsi plus my usual stuff. The scavenger alleycat shot that to hell. A brick, 40oz & gin bottle (empty), a car tire, and a cinder block. Still managed to place 2nd from last...you should've seen the other guys. Once I had to carry another bike, that was hard too

hmmmm... one time back in college, i was the only one with a fake ID. borrowed a huge sports duffel bag from a friend, and hopped on my bike down to the liquor store.

bought 2 cases of beer in bottles. fit it into the bag, and left the store. this bag was so heavy that i fell backwards while trying to mount my bike -
swiiing right foot over seat, but then immediately get pulled back to the left side of the bike and onto the ground on top of the beer. i was pretty embarrassed, so i didn't even check for beer damage. mounted my bike with a little more attention to weight distribution, and biked off rather slowly.

despite the fall, twas still a victory!

largest and heaviest would have been 4 file boxes (like the lawyers use) in my giant paperboy basket with 2 more in my bag. I rode them from 585 commercial st. to the prudential center. Boston people know where they are.
Oddest thing would be the 3 manaquins. Other odd things I know others have delivered would be forskins and breast implants.

Once when I worked for the Boy Scouts we got (no lie) 24" of rain in 24 hours. This, of course, washed out the camp road that ran out to the main road. Since it was the weekend and there weren't any kids there, I mounted up on the mountain bike, rode over the mountain (this was in Texas - so think really big hill) and rode to the store. Came back with a case and a half in cans. That and the play station kept my buddy and I occupied until we could get out of camp.

In a pack, maybe thirty pounds. On a bob, 240 pounds, just to see how it handled(This is way over their reccomended weight)

I train regularly with my daughter in her chariot. Usually at least twice per week I will pull her for from 20-50 miles.

She weighs 32lbs, trailer is 35lbs, diaper bag and other toys and goodies add about 10 more. So I'd say at least 75lbs up too 85 when I carry lotys of extra fluids in the cart. I sometimes carry a full gallon of gatorade and a picnic on the long (50mile) rides.

are we talking on a fixed gear/singlespeed, or on a bike in general?

just to clarify; i've not hauled all that big of a load, but i tend to do a pretty big load (50lbs+/-) on my fixie 3 times a week. lit books, mostly.

Carting around repaired wheels is always a chore. Unfolded tires, too...

Trash days always end up weird like that-- my roommate had two discarded (beat to ****) skateboards over the handlebars of my schwinn cruiser. Press on tail to go left. Press on nose to go right.

last Xmas, I got a gig to carry "a bottle of wine" from A to B here in Helsinki. When I got to the client, it turned out it was not A bottle of wine but a case of 16 bottles... which fitted nicely to my bag, though :D

Overall weight must have been around 30kg or so. Fortunately, it was downhill all the way to the drop :)

messenger bags and trailers are so last year. crazy berkeley people.

Probably the heaviest load was the bike/gear combo of 70 lbs., fixed gear for 197 miles in 3 days.

I'm always sorely tempted by those, but then I look at the price tag again.

Oh well.

not sure how much it weighed but 36 cans and bbq food for 20 people.

24 of cans, 6 bottles and a 1.75 of wiskey (with tools and extra tubes). I prefer 2 12s of cans, but the price difference usually doesn't make it worth it of the comfort.

Carrying wheels always worries me - I don't like the idea of putting an axle through my spine.
