Anyone else planning on riding the golden apple on sept. 14th? I'm either riding the 100 or 120.

What kind of terrain...hilly, rolling, flat?

more towards hilly-- I think it's about 6000 vertical feet for the century, nothing outrageous though.

I'm planning to do the century. I still need to sign up, however.

I clocked just under 8000 for the century last year.
It's a fantastic ride, very well run.
edit: attached elevation graph from last year.

Did the 100 miles today... about 5.5 hours of riding time, 6.5 all together. It was rainy and nasty at the start but warmed up quite a bit as the day progressed. Great ride and very well run... big thumbs up.

Sounds nice...unfortunately I couldn't ride today. Did you ride with the B+ group? Decent turnout? It didn't sound like there were going to be too many regular B riders (my normal group) doing the 100.

I had planned on going out with that crew but arrived too late. Ended up hitching a ride with another group that was doing 50, then doing the rest of the ride solo until I ran across another couple of riders who I pacelined with to finish out the ride. Turnout was great, I think a lot of people started later than they had planned on originally due to the rain.

I ended up doing the 125, starting a little after 7:30, when it stopped raining and finishing up around 2:30. I won't ride in groups when the roads are soaked, especially on some of the narrow twisting downhills in the early part of that ride-- makes for dangerous situations, especially when all level riders are on the courses.
As usual, they do a great job and this year I registered early enough to get a t-shirt!
