Foo - Where is everybody?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

About a month ago, this place (the whole board) was jumpin'. I couldn't keep up with all the posts. Now they just sit there with occasional changes. Has my perception changed or is everyone back in their cars with their conventional lives?

School just started. People are busy. We always go on the back burner during this time. But during winter it will be hoppin' again.
Other than that, it looks like it's just me and you at this gawd awful hour. But that's only because I have to go to work soon.

Go wake up April. Why should you have to suffer alone? :p

I woke up around 30mins ago...
which would be 2pm EST
reason I did that was because it was cold and raining

People started reading my signature.
excuse me while I munch down some food before I go off on a bike ride in this drenched frigid 20c day.
if I ever get around to eating... anyone else have trouble eating right after they wake up?
my bread was moldy :(
I'll settle for some potato chips
is everyone back in their carsMaybe they're, oh, I dunno, on their bikes? :P In most of the United States, it's still the dead of summer, or at best, early fall. Prime riding weather for most.

I crashed hard last night, school and riding my 40 lb rig 25 miles a day is wearing on me...:(

3pm... don't feel too great either, lol
I'm tempted to just wrench my commuter today
oh.. it's 16c outside, no wonder it's cold...

Weather starts to become bearable again in the early autumn here in the south. Best time of year really. Go outside.

And in the Mid-Atlantic, as well. Except for the remnants of Hanna yesterday, this has been a fabulous couple of weeks- great riding weather!

New firewall at work blocks about 90% of the interwebs. This severely cuts into my productivity.
you work at a job which has a computer at your desk on a Sunday?
well it wasn't so bad... I was overdressed and forgot to put on a rear fender when I went outside.

Seems like a lot more people are out riding the past month compared to the rest of the summer.
I'm relaxing after today's ride. 58 miles, 3000 feet of climbing.

It goes hot if some meaningful subject comes up....like PhantomCow2's "Wage Disparity" post yesterday. Couldn't stay ahead of the postings, but oh noooo, off it goes to P&R because it got good and people might actually learn something.:notamused::bang:

16C? Geez. I was out in 5C yesterday - probably colder than that at times, it did start to snow on us at one point. Stupid mountain weather.
16 is perfect riding temperature. As for rain - hie thee to Mountain Equipment Co-op and buy one of their breathable waterproof jackets. Mine is made of "Entrant DT" fabric by Toray and it is fabulous. (Yes, I get excited about rain gear. I was born on the west coast, I'm lucky not to have webbed feet!)
That said, I have been inside knitting and reading all day today - it's 9 degrees and raining, and I rode 160 km yesterday, so I am not moving :D

<lots of snip>
That is a great shop!
I've got the jacket and booties from MEC already. it wasn't raining by the 5min markof getting outside.
I forgot the rear fender so I went back home and got it. took off my booties, helmet cover and rain jacket since it was pretty warm by then. should have swapped out for some open finger gloves, but oh well.
That's what happens when your body gets used to a constant 25c+ in your room :p

No. On my main BF page under P&R it says "Never".
Have I been "flagged" as a "problem child"?

I think it says never when you don't put "yes" in the rules agreeing box....That means he never got past that point.

 Being over 50 years old, does of course mean that I can't work VCR's, CD's or 3-way light switches, but I did just figure out that I could erase the 6 dots in the box, and type in "yes", where I was then able to view the "sticky", and even request the ability to post on P&R.
Your post has made all that possible. Thank you, U of A... I shall name my firstborn after you.

ACK. I'd die! Too hot!!! There's a constant battle of the thermostat around here, with The Boy cranking it to 24-26 and me coming along and turning it back down to 20 and handing him sweaters. At 20C I am already in a tank top and feeling too warm!
Um. I think I may have realized why he keeps turning the heat up further
Glad you got out for a ride :)

5 minutes is all relative...it depends on your perspective of the space time continuum....

I was busy playing musical motorcycles between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
I went to Sipapu this weekend for a motorcycle rally.
Satisfied?

What??
I can understand the Politics part, because when you really examine it, politics is just organized crime at work...but Religion....what matters more in life than examining our positions, thoughts and feelings about our very fleeting time here with each other, in the context of a spiritual existence. Plus you get to call each other names there.

Just wait till winter, I'll be a rare collectors item.
Well it's starting to theoretically warm up here as it is now officially spring and I've been slightly busy working, gardening and fixing bikes.
If I don't surf during my lunch hour at work I tend to post at slightly odd times compared to most of the rest of Foo for some strange reason.:p
