My name is David. I found this forum about a year ago when I was researching mountain bikes. I found that a Giant Yukon suits me just fine as a beginner. It is a bit on the heavy side, but it has a pretty good component set and it seems like it will hold up well for some occasional trail blazing.
Now for the main reason I joined...Recently my dad gave me his old Uni Vega Viva Sport. It's in great condition, but it needs some cleaning up. I think it was built around '80 - '84, but I am not sure how to tell for sure. No he doesn't remember the year he bought it. My plan is to tune it up and use it to build endurance for mountain biking. Who knows I might like it enough to become a roady. I noticed there is a great thread for vintage Uni Vega owners on this site, so I figured I could benefit from a membership.
I look forward to benefiting a lot form this site.
