I have a Specialized Myka HT (women's bike) and I'd like to raise the handlebars a bit. I took it to the LBS I bought it from and the salesman told me it's not possible to adjust the handlebars at all. This seems a little strange to me. Is this true or is he BSing me?

Buy a taller rise handlebar or stem. Just fine.

I'd get the Hi'rise bars. (I like Easton EA70 2" rise)

You can get a higher rise stem or riser bars. Or, you can get an adjustable stem to find what height you like. But please get a normal stem afterwords....

You *may or may not* have room to move your stem up a bit on the fork steer tube. If not, a higher rise stem or higher rise bar will do the trick, or both if you really want it up there more.

Check with another shop or the original. Most new bikes are sold with a little bit of leeway to raise or lower the stem a bit. though if yours is already maxxed out, that could be why you were told it wasn't possible. Then back to square one with a stem or bar with more rise.
