Anyone running these for CX? They have a pretty screamin' deal going on the tubular version...under $700 for a 50mm carbon wheelset. That is half of what you'd pay for a single ZIPP.

I have heard that "their hubs are not that great" as a general brand criticism (not specific to these wheels). Also heard tales of spoke breakage, but that was from much older reviews and from heavier (>200lbs) riders. These are supposedly built with Sapim XC spokes, and there's an optional ($30/wheel) upgrade for ceramic bearings.

This seems attractive for those of us on a budget, but I'm keen to hear reviews specific to using them in CX...I don't want to be a guinea pig :)

Bumping this as I'm in the same boat as the OP. $600 for the Neuvation C50s seems too good not to try, and I wonder if anyone here has raced them.

In general, I'm looking for a cheap but durable deep dish tubular wheelset. My budget is $600-$700, but I could splurge for something around $800 if I felt it was a decent deal.

When I worked at the bike shop, the mechanic hated them. They sponsor a local team and even medium weight guys on the road would pop spokes like crazy. So he got broken wheels in all the time.

My buddy is 200lbs and hasn't had any problems with them (on the road)

I've seen other people race them in cross. Its a good price.

im thinking about these too since most nicer reflex/hub combinations are only hundred or so less

I added some 50mm carbon tubular builds to my site as well. ihave the rims in stock. They are all 24f/28r and we can lace them any which way you want and with any spoke you want. I have some pricing packages put together and listed at this link (http://www.psimet.com/Pshop%20Psale.htm)
