If you're looking for a good Saturday workout in the Murrieta/Temecula/North San Diego Area this is may be it...
The CA Pools club has been hosting this fast Saturday ride for a few months now.
* ~46 miles flat and fast.
* Bike lanes and streets are wide for most of the course and traffic is medium to light.
* Avg. speed is 24-26 mph for now but it's getting faster each month.
* Out and back route. On the way out it's a furious pace and no stopping for flats (be prepared! fix your flat and get ready to catch the group on the return). On the way back the pace slows down a bit and some/all of the group will stop for flats.
* ~30 miles of the ride is on Domenigoni Hwy which has only 4 stop lights that are green most of the time.
* Double pace line for most of the ride. If you're strong but not experienced with dbl. pace line there are friendly experienced riders that will help you out.
* Lots of sprints and hill (? <125ft) attacks.
The ride meets Saturday at 7:30am at I.E. Bikes in Murrieta:
39605 Los Alamos Rd # D
Murrieta, CA 92563
Official Ride posting: Domenigoni Drag Strip (http://www.capoolsracing.org/documents/satsched.pdf)
