What time are you all planning on rolling out? As much as I hate to pay for rides on roads that I ride on a regular basis. I am thinking about showing up.

It appears to be a 8:00am mass start for the 100 miler.
Looks like a great scenic ride, but the weather forecast does not.
I would like to drop some buggies this weekend.

Puhlease Gary, how long has it been since you've ridden in the rain? Lately, I've been PRAYING for a cold rainy ride. I'm starting to love riding in miserable Belgian weather.

I think I'm going to do the vultures knob race instead of this. The weekend looks pretty sketchy weather wise though.

Holmes County would be a nice ride this time of year.

Not sure if i am going to come play in the rain or not will decide in the morning. If you want more of lower Wayne and Holmes county remember the Library in Fredricksburgh.
The race at the knob on sunday has been cancled and rescheduled for Oct 5th. Here is the email I recieved about the race.
September 12, 2008
To our sponsors and race participants:
Love us or hate us… It is with our deepest regrets that we have to announce the postponement and rescheduling of the September 14 Vulture’s Knob Groovy Race Series Final which is also the 2nd race the new NEO Power Series due to the weather leading into and surrounding the race weekend. The race is rescheduled for the first weekend in October on Sunday October 5th,. Same time 1:00
Several options have been considered such as running a shortened course, however, these were ruled out since it will be raining for the next 72+ hours.
1) Safety – need we say any more – roots, rocks, bridges and downhill’s can be quite challenging during the rain, SAFETY IS OUR #1 concern!
2) Trail sustainability – Countless trail building hours have been poured into the trail system this year. Looking back at the history of the Knob, how many races have been run over the last 10 years in the rain that helped contribute to the erosion and deteriorating conditions and subsequent closure and rerouting of many trails at the venue. IMBA and many local organizations have taught us many things in trail design and riding in the rain is never a good thing if it can be avoided.
3) Just throwing this out there for a little humor yet how true it is…wear and tear on your components…the mud has potential to ruin gears in a couple of hours.
4) If it rain does clear up by Sunday…the stage has been set – lets avoid the potential damage to our bodies, trails, and bikes.
After much discussion between organizers and racers, it became obvious that a postponement and rescheduling for October 5th was our only option. All of us want to make “Vulture’s Knob’ the best it can be in its triumphant return year. If you were one of our sponsors or a racer who planned to participate, we want to say “THANK YOU” for your support this year and hope to see you at the rain date - October 5th. We truly apologize and hope that we can count on your support in the future.
Remember…it’s a Groovy series! Good times!
Sincerely,
The Vulture’s Knob Crew
