I have a black/red System-six Four with Sram Rival that I really enjoy, but the paint job is getting on my nerves. Seems like a lot of overstyling.
Normally I'd just look around for a powerdercoater, but the bike is both carbon/aluminum (bonded I imagine). The front triangle and fork is carbon, the rear being aluminum.
I also read in the manual (yes I actually read it) that I shouldn't "score" or otherwise abraise the carbon material for whatever reason. Past experiences regarding carbon painting required some of the surface to be made rough so the paint would stick.
Also of note, is the type of paint I can even use. Since there are two materials involved, I'm guessing two different temperatures would be needed to powdercoat the bike?
Is my only recourse to have some strip the thing and paint it with wet paint or something?
