Riding a bike for me lately has been a pain in the neck, literally. From the middle of my neck down to my to about my shoulder blades has been hurting along my spine. I noticed it most while riding, but the pain was hanging around days after my last ride. Where I work has an ergonomic consulting/ exercise therapy firm come in from time to time to deal with issues that we may be having. I took the opportunity to visit them and see if they could help me with my neck pain. The consultant asked a few questions and pressed several places on my neck to pin point where to pain was. She showed my several stretches that I could do and recommended using ice if the stretches did not do the job. I am happy to report that before and after today's bike ride that I did the exercises that were shown to me and I was pain free. :D I just brought this up because I know that sometime that we all pain that we can't seem to get rid of and I am hoping to give some information that might help out any of the members here.

I have been trying to convince the my work to give us quarterly massages as part of our ergonomics program. So far they're not buying it :o I have a pretty good argument... I don't know how common this is, but I know locally we have some practioners that handle both massages and PT, so if done quarterly we could identify ergonomic issues before injury and subsequent medical treatment (expensive surgeries, maybe) is needed. And it would boost productivity. But I am fighting an uphill battle here
EDIT: I have also suggested lazy boy chairs out on the lines, and putting the Iowa game on the 9-planel Plasma TV display we have on the lines to get more people to work weekend OT, but they didn't go for those either.

Any chance you can post a video showing us these stretches? Glad you feel better.
The right stretches are sooooo key to healthy riding and mobility.
