Folding Bikes - Ergon grips on a Dahon D3 Curve

I've recently got this bike and I'm looking to make the ride more comfortable, espicially for my wrists.

My question is would fitting Ergon grips make a noticable difference to this bike?

I'm also interested in alternative's in reducing the vibration and pressure to my wrists. However, due to the lack of any mechanical skills, other solutions must be of the buy and fit approach.

(I'm particular interested in responses from fellow Curve riders suggestions in making the bike more comfortable to ride. I won't ask about saddles as that will be a personal choice but infomation about Thud Busters and the like would be good)

Note - my bike is totally stock at the moment.

Saddles may be a lot about what fits your behind but there are sprung saddles and those with elastomers. I've got my eyes on the Selle Italia Prolink which has a few characteristics that should soften the ride, have a look at it on the Selle Italia website.

There are grips which are imitations of the Ergons for less money such as the BBB ergofix, and Specialized do something similar too.

I have a set of the Ergons with the mini barends on my D3. It takes a while to get used to folding the bike with them on, but it does fold. This is the second bike I've had these grips on, and I find them confortable.

Yeah, I like them a lot. Real barends are much better, of course, but that's out of the question on the D3.

Why can't you use normal bar ends on the curve? Surely you can just rotate the handlebar when folding?

The brake levers need to be rotated juuust right in order to fold; I can barely get the itsy bitsy barends on the ergons to play nice. Anyone get this to work?

I should be getting some barends for my vitesse tomorrow so I'll see how the fold is affected on that. But currently I don't have to rotate the handlebar at all so there's a lot of room.

I have the Ergon grips sans bar-ends on a Curve D3. That and a Brooks saddle are the essential upgrades IMHO.

I will be buying the nexus/rohloff version (where the right one is shorter than the left) of the ergon grips direct from the dealer soon. It's the only way to get that version in the US.

I'm having trouble deciding between the small and the large? Any suggestions? I tried out both and they both fit but I don't know which will be better in the long run.
