HI,
Well I took of this am to ride with all my buddies at FAT FROGS it a we bit from my house so I started alittle early, 1.5 miles from the house my bike felt all wobbly, and I went aw shucks I broke something.
I stoped and felt the rear tire and it was all spongy and soft, and there was a nickle sized piece of glass sitcking in the tire.. GEEZE wiz.
So much for my ride.
I hopped off didn't have a spare tube like I could change it out, and no tire pump on the bike so I pushed her home , ANd might I add my clips were making some nice crunchy sounds.
Oh well the tires fixed new and improved tube,, clips look ok. And I am looking forward to tomorrows ride.
Oh welll that the way the tire goes.PSSSSTTTT"S

On the serious side however, its a good thing that your bike started to wobble and you noticed it. Flat's that occur more suddenly can come as a nasty surprise.

You did not have it well enough organised. I always ride with the wedge with tube- puncture repair kit- Levers and a pump on the bike. I also try and ride with mates that can do the job for me.

Last sunday I forgot to put the wedge on the bike- but I did check that my partner had his- and the pump. Then we met up with the other two and first puncture was on one of the mates. He took the wheel off and the tube out- while I put a bit of air into the spare tube- Another put the tube in the tyre whilst the rider rolled up the flatted tube ready for the wedge. A relay of two of us pumped the tyre up and we were on our way in a couple of minutes.

So when I had a puncture- I let the others repair it for me as I sat back and watched. They were so expert at it- it was a joy to watch.

And +10 on the road morph as a good pump- Unfortuantely you need a bigger volume pump for MTB's so a Blackburn Mammoth for up to 80 psi in a fat tyre.
